That’s where the Somatic Activated Healing Method (SAH) comes in.

Developed as a powerful blend of breathwork, ecstatic dance, movement therapy, and affirmations, the SAH Method works at the root level of trauma and stress, helping the nervous system reset and the soul reclaim its natural rhythm. Beginning this season, Soul Journey will be hosting a certified SAH instructor for weekly sessions—an offering perfectly aligned with our philosophy of moving toward the good in life wherever you can find it.


The Science: Somatic Activated Healing & Ecstatic Dance


Trauma, whether from a single event or years of accumulated stress, often lodges in the body. Modern neuroscience shows that the nervous system holds on to unresolved experiences, leading to patterns of tension, anxiety, depression, autoimmune flare-ups, and even weight imbalances.

The SAH Method helps break these loops by combining:

Breath Technique Example: One commonly used technique in SAH is The Tri-Phase Breath—inhale deeply into the belly, inhale again into the chest, then exhale with sound. Repeating this pattern awakens energy flow while releasing built-up tension. It’s like giving your body a fresh reset button.


Affirmation Examples:

  • “I am safe in my body.”

  • “I release what no longer serves me.”

  • “My joy is my power.”

  • “I am free to move, free to be, free to love.”

Said aloud while moving, these affirmations root deeply into the nervous system, reshaping the story you tell yourself about who you are.
